I Woke Up Like This: A Day in the Life of a Dog75

If I didn't know better, I would think my dog, Max, had a morning routine that would rival that of a human. When he wakes up, he has a certain way of doing things. And while he may not be able to verbally communicate what he's thinking, his body language and actions speak volumes.

The first thing Max does upon waking is stretch. He arches his back, extends his front legs, and lets out a big, satisfying yawn. It's like he's saying, "Good morning, world! I'm ready to start my day."

Next, Max usually goes to the kitchen. He knows that's where the food is, and he's not shy about letting me know that he's hungry. He'll sit there patiently, staring at me with those big, brown eyes of his. I can't resist giving him a few nibbles of my breakfast, which he gratefully accepts.

After he's eaten, Max is ready for some playtime. He loves to play fetch, and he'll chase after a ball until he's exhausted. I usually take him for a walk in the park, too. He loves to sniff around and explore, and he always seems to find the best sticks to chew on.

In the afternoon, Max usually takes a nap. He'll curl up on the couch or in his bed and sleep for a few hours. I usually use this time to get some work done or run errands.

When Max wakes up from his nap, he's usually ready for some more playtime. We'll play fetch in the backyard, or we'll go for a walk around the neighborhood. He loves to socialize with other dogs, and he always makes friends wherever he goes.

In the evening, Max is usually ready to relax. He'll curl up on the couch next to me and watch TV. He loves to cuddle, and he often falls asleep in my lap. I usually read him a story before bed, and then he's out like a light.

Max's morning routine is a reminder of how much I love him. He's my best friend, and I'm so grateful to have him in my life. Watching him wake up and go through his day always brings a smile to my face.
