Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments of dogs, identifying underlying causes of unwanted behaviors such as aggression, anxiety, separation anxiety, excessive barking, destructive chewing, and leash reactivity.
Develop and implement individualized training plans tailored to the specific needs and learning styles of each dog.
Provide in-home and/or group training sessions, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques, such as reward-based training, clicker training, and shaping.
Educate dog owners on proper training methods, canine behavior, and responsible pet ownership.
Maintain detailed records of each dog's progress and training sessions.
Collaborate with veterinary professionals, as needed, to address potential medical or health concerns that may be contributing to behavioral issues.
Promote a positive and professional image of the company through excellent communication and client interaction.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with the latest advancements in canine behavior science and training techniques.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Occasionally participate in community outreach events, such as dog adoption days or educational workshops.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in animal behavior, animal science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Dog Trainer – CPDT-KA, Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner – KPA-CTP) are highly desirable.
Minimum of three years of experience in professional dog training, with a proven track record of success in addressing a wide range of canine behavioral issues.
Extensive knowledge of canine behavior, learning theory, and positive reinforcement training methods.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Physical stamina and ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is essential. English proficiency is a plus.
