About the Role:
As a Dog Behaviorist/Trainer in Dongying, you will be responsible for providing a range of services to clients, including but not limited to:
In-home consultations: Conducting thorough assessments of dog behavior to identify underlying issues and develop personalized training plans.
Group and private training classes: Leading engaging and effective training sessions for dogs of all breeds, ages, and experience levels. This includes teaching basic obedience, addressing behavioral problems such as aggression, anxiety, and separation anxiety, and fostering positive owner-dog relationships.
Behavior modification: Implementing behavior modification techniques to address challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement methods. Experience with counter-conditioning and desensitization is a plus.
Puppy socialization: Guiding puppy owners on proper socialization techniques to ensure well-adjusted adult dogs.
Client education and support: Providing ongoing support and guidance to clients, answering questions, and offering advice on maintaining positive training progress.
Record keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of client interactions, training progress, and any relevant observations.
Marketing and outreach: Participating in community events, workshops, and other activities to promote the services offered and raise awareness of responsible dog ownership.
Qualifications and Skills:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with the following qualifications and skills:
Proven experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a professional dog trainer or behaviorist. Experience working with a diverse range of dog breeds and behavioral issues is essential.
Certification: Certification from a reputable dog training or behavior organization (e.g., Karen Pryor Academy, Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), IAABC) is highly preferred.
Knowledge of canine behavior: A strong understanding of canine psychology, learning theory, and behavior modification techniques is critical.
Positive reinforcement methods: Extensive experience using positive reinforcement methods, avoiding punishment-based training techniques.
Excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds and experience levels, explaining complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Strong problem-solving skills: Ability to assess situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions to address behavioral challenges.
Patience and empathy: Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine love for dogs.
Physical fitness: Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
Reliable transportation: Access to reliable transportation to travel to client locations.
Proficiency in Mandarin and English: Fluency in both Mandarin and English is highly desirable to communicate effectively with a wider range of clients.
